Once Upon A Time... The Beginning

Welcome to all you pass through here!
I'm Vin and the beautiful blue eye bombshell--
"VINCENT!"

Sorry about him. We are not starting every post with how he thinks I am a beautiful blue eyed bombshell. So we will tell the story together. We was originally going to write a book, but truth be told our story isn't going to end so why should we make it feel like it does with a book? This blog will be a continuum of our lives and our love story.

Our story starts back in September 2001 when our schools realized that a trip to the country's capital was out of the question. My school had decided like Hunter's to go to Disney World instead of DC that year for a week long adventure. Strangely enough we even got in the same resort hotel at Disney as they did. We were stayed at the All-Star Music. (Ironic? Not yet? It will be.)

The reason the school boards counted the trip as educational was that we had to take "classes" at Disney World. They still have the same kind of classes to this day! The Disney Youth Program is still very operational, which we are taking our kids to some of these classes since we are homeschooling our clan.
So our schools are in the same hotel and I notice her for the first time. She's grumbling about having to room with a bunch of girls. Her dad was looking tired (and he says she has been complaining about that situation since they learned that's how it would work with the rooms.) She finally quit once her dad handed her the ice bucket. My grams was ushering me toward the machine to get our bucket of ice filled up. The girl seemed to notice my embarrassment of my grandma ushering me around, because she smirked.
STOP! I DID NOT SMIRK! I was being polite! I was smiling! She was a nice lady. UGH!
If you are quite finish I'd like to continue. The girl did manage to notice that I had on Tommy Hilfiger boxers, just to show our ages. *Giggles* Once we were in the Epcot one and I noticed that the girl was now carrying a misting fan on strap. She was looking quite bored and then all of the sudden she caught me looking and she totally didn't think twice about spraying me with it. Which actually felt kinda nice but it got my hat wet. And she kept spraying when thought no one was looking.

And I started getting mad when it started having water droplets fall from it. I told her to stop that I couldn't wear my hat while it was wet. And the next thing I know the guy that was teaching was telling me to shush. And he started asking us questions and I'm thinking she will get in trouble when she can't answer his question. But no, she goes and above answering his question about email (yeah email was just becoming a household thing then) and such.

The girl then had the nerve to wink at me afterwards which was when I noticed her name tag.

Nah he was just checking out my not there yet boobs!

Anyhow, we went onto the next class and she answered the questions on the history of Epcot because nobody else has been as many times as she had. She finally got quiet when we had to do paper work. Afterwards we had a break to go get some snacks and drinks. Then it was back to the class which was very interesting. We were leaving the class and I was talking to my grandma and the next thing I know a bottle of water is poured right on me. My grandma was grinning and I heard a giggle.

I noticed it was the girl named Hunter who was wearing a Golden Girl tshirt and I went after her. She smiling at me and that's when she introduces herself. I told her she had a boy's name and she asked me was I in the mafia. I knew then that she might have been younger than me but she could hold her own. She apologized for dumping the water on my head but told me that I kept staring at her.

Somehow that day I made a friend. My classmates were not to keen on me except for a few and they had already deserted me and this girl just grabs my wrist and pulls me to the world showcase. For those of you not familiar with Disney World we have actually included a map of Epcot for you from THEN!

We headed to Mexico where she and I started singing 98°'s Una Noche. There is actual video us singing and dancing together while waiting for the Mexico ride. My grandma said she saw me come alive for the first time in 7-8 years. She said she cried the entire ride because I was laughing and finally acting carefree. I won't forget her telling me that.

Hunter grinned at me after that ride and said I just had to ride her favorite ride in Epcot. She pulled me over to the Maelstrom and I was kind of like, "This is your favorite ride?" She gave me the smile I now know to be her evil grin. She asked the ride operator could we ride in the back of the boat. The ride is no longer there (but we have rode it together several more times.) The reason she wanted us to ride in the back was it went backwards-- which scared the crap out of me!

That night her dad bought us a bucket of popcorn and we watched Epcot's fireworks together. She and I were laying in the grass watching it. She grazed my hand while eating it and there were more sparks that weren't in the sky. Her dad bought us starter kits of pin trading afterwards. I still have my May one.

The next day we were dispersing into groups because we didn't have any classes that day. We were spending the day at Magic Kingdom. She and I terrorized Magic Kingdom. My grams had never rode Splash Mountain before, but she got on there with us. She rode in front again and had a wet blast!

I think my favorite part of that day was Hunter screaming bloody murder at me because my hat fell off getting off Big Thunder Mountain into the tracks and the cast members having to hold me back from jumping down onto the electric rails of the ride. They rescued my hat and Hunter actually hit me and could I not read the signs posted everywhere.

She was fantastic fun to be around. We rode most everything in Magic Kingdom. We even rode the same horse on the carousel together. Her dad said it was funny to see us young and in love. Looking back I think we were. We bought matching souvenir cups which we both still have.

Animal Kingdom was the next day which I will never forget. Some little imp had the idea to ride the Kali River Rapids and we got soaking wet. I remember the guy beside me had on Sponge Bob Boxers. I was still happily wearing my Hilfiger boxers. We rode the safari afterwards to dry off and looking at all the animals. Hunter was squished beside me laughing at me being terrified of the alligators. We enjoyed eating pretzels and got another souvenir cup.

The next day was spent going to MGM (now known as Hollywood Studios) where we had another class. I didn't get soaking wet this day, thank goodness. Oh dear. You and that hat! We finished up the class. Tower of Terror kept having problems that day so we went and rode Rockin Roller Coaster together. Hunter and I screamed and had a blast. We enjoyed watching Fantasmic together and eating popcorn again.

I remember we were going to get on the bus and I told Hunter to hop on my back. We sang songs on the way to the bus. We shared headphones on the bus. Grandma always said she knew then that I wasn't going to let this girl go even though we lived miles apart (620 to be exact, I am guilty of looking several times.)

The next day we returned to Epcot. We had our last class and we got to "graduate." We rode Spaceship Earth and Hunter made snort with the same comment she says to this day while riding that ride. That the guys in Rome are the four Wise men. We still have a good laugh about that. The day drew to a close. I couldn't find her for a little while.

She was standing beside herself sucking on a lollipop. She didn't seem too sad. She squirted me and I came up to her and picked her up making her squeal. And I became hatless but I was thinking at the end of the trip she would give it back. But she didn't. She is proudly wearing that hat right now with a smug look on her face.

However, she did give me something in exchange for my hat. She gave her hit clip collection - But that playlist will be for another day.

We hope you've enjoy our recap of what happened when we first met. We have went through home videos and pictures. This has brought back so many memories.
